Doggy Rules at Dufton Barn Holidays

We welcome one small/medium sized well behaved dog in each property.  Puppies are not permitted.  We want all our guests to really enjoy their visit, and so if you bring a dog we have a simple set of dog rules for the relevant property.

We allow 1 dog per property which must be booked in, just like their human guests, and we levy an additional charge – £15 in the Potting Shed, and £20 in Shepherds View.

Dogs are not permitted on beds under any circumstance.  Throws are provided for the sofa, and we also provide a comfortable dog bed.  Please do not leave your dog alone in the property.  The Stag Inn is dog friendly and has a flag-stone area where dogs are permitted, but we recommend you book a table in advance for this area as it gets busy.

There are numerous lovely dog walks straight from the door, Dufton Ghyll being one of them which is a wooded area with streams, and it is an ideal place to let them off the lead.

Basic rules

• On arrival and in common areas please keep your dog on a lead as other guests may have dogs too.
• We would really appreciate it if you would let your dog out onto the grass down the side of the drive or on the village green rather than in the designated garden – there is a bin for this purpose on the green outside the front of Hall Croft. We have provided a couple of laminated short walks should you need them.
• Please keep your dog off the bed.
• This is sheep country and many of the walks go through fields where there may be sheep/lambs grazing, so we advise you to keep your dog on a lead where livestock are present.
• Please carry out a basic clean prior to departure to remove dog hairs as much as possible. Equipment is provided to enable you to keep your dog clean in the property including towels, throws and indoor dog shower (Shepherds View only).
• Please wash muddy paws using the hose outside the property (and not in the shower or bath) and then dry their feet using the dog towels provided. We recommend you bring your own where possible as well for back up.

To make your dog’s stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible we provide:
