Carlisle Cathedral and cafe. Definitely worth visiting, stunning ceiling and if you are lucky, as we were today,they had afternoon recital organ music playing.
Cafe open daily, lovely tasty food. Peaceful setting with outdoor seating.
Afternoon teas can be booked here in advance.
45 minute drive from Dufton.
Interesting city with a castle to visit as well.
Lots of independent coffee shops and back street cobbled streets.

Winton Park - If you like visiting a garden on holiday then you won't get much better than these gardens near Kirkby Stephen. A private garden that is open only a few Sundays a year this is a real treat, and also offers a super cafe. Opening on the following remaining days in 2025
